Would you like to know more?\n \nHow professional advisors benefit clients and promote their professional services by asking themselves and their clients the Golden Question of charitable giving.\n \nDo you consistently ask your clients about their philanthropic interests as part of their estate and tax planning? Are you comfortable in discussing ways your clients can leave a philanthropic legacy?\n \nWe’ll examine current planned giving trends and review planned giving tools that estate planners should be aware of and, when appropriate, be prepared to share with their clients. We will also consider the best techniques for initiating a philanthropic conversation thereby ensuring that your clients enjoy every opportunity to evaluate ways they can benefit their favorite charities.\n \n \n \nDavid J. Bonner, JD\n \nManager, Planned Giving Services\n \nPhilanthropies: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints\n \nDavid Bonner serves as manager of Gift Planning Services of the Philanthropies department of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. David and his team assist individuals, families, and their advisors as they consider planned outright and deferred gifts which benefit the charitable programs of the Church.\n \nHe received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Utah in 1984 where he served an internship with the Hinckley Institute of Politics. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from Brigham Young University and was admitted to the Utah Bar in 1987.\n \nFollowing law school, David served a judicial clerkship, worked in the land department of Shell Oil Company, and practiced law in Salt Lake City.\n \nDavid came to know and love Washington County and its wonderful residents while working for the Boy Scouts of America in the 1990s.  He concluded his service with the Boy Scouts of America as Endowment Director for Scouting’s Montana Council prior to joining LDS Philanthropies in June of 2000.\n
