(Rust) Tippett will speak on Utah’s new asset protection trust law.  Mr. Tippett drafted the new statute, which became effective May 14 of this year.  Mr. Tippett will give us an overview of Utah asset protection trusts, and will then examine the statutory requirements and the protections offered by Utah’s new law.  He will also offer practice tips for evaluating clients’ needs and structuring asset protection trusts.\n \nMr. Tippett is a partner at Bennett Tueller Johnson & Deere in Salt Lake City and an Adjunct Professor at BYU Law School.  He is also the author of The Utah Law of Trusts & Estates (a comprehensive 700-page online legal reference treatise).\n
